This past month, Kenneth Bailey proudly represented our lab at the Undergraduate Research Symposium here at UCR.
Their poster presentation showcased an exciting and innovative project with one of our graduate students Tilman Schramm, centered around a citizen science approach to monitor water quality through dissolved organic matter (DOM) analysis using LC-MS/MS.
The project envisions to allow the public to asses water quality from diverse locations, which are then analyzed in the lab to assess DOM signatures and potential contaminants.
It was a great moment to see undergraduate research take center stage, and even better to see our student confidently communicating complex analytical science to a broader audience.
We’re proud of their hard work and excited to see how this project continues to grow!
